With 2013 firmly behind us, I have had time to pore over some my food lab exploits from that year and I have to say; what a year it was!
Now racing through 2014, at what feels like break-neck speed, I think the time is right to share some of the high lights and low lights of my 2013 food adventures.
Breakfast time gave me an opportunity to try different ideas working with fresh fruit and making fun takes on classics recipes
Veggies weren’t left out if breakfast time
The great thing about the above veggie inspired meals is that they worked well for brunch too!
Lunch and dinner times presented an opportunity to attempt a variety of recipes and I hope some of them will inspire your choices this year.
Homemade Desserts and drinks yielded some delicious outcomes that have become staples at mealtimes.
There are no words to describe my involvement with all things banana bread and lemon cakes. I’ll just let the pictures do the talking.
Baking didn’t end at banana bread and lemon cakes; I also made cookies. Almond coconut chocolate chip cookies to be precise.
Salads were bountiful during meal times. They brought color and vitality to the table.
Nothing tastes better than delicious food that you can pop in your mouth. My creative canapés/nibbles ticked this box firmly.
It wasn’t all smooth sailing and there were some colossal failures. Chief of which was my attempt to bake bread. My quail’s eggs scotchies was also a disappointment so was my attempt at an apple walnut cake.
Through 2013 I came to enjoy food, experiment with food, exhibit food and learned how not to make certain meals. All in all it was a great year.
The recipes for the meals shown here can be found in various posts on the blog or on my Facebook page. Feel free to explore 🙂
2014 has been be filled with so much already and I can’t wait to share my activities with you 🙂
